Cheer Code of Conduct
DasCHE Spartans Cheerleading
2026 – 2026
Welcome!
We are so excited to have you consider being a part of Spartan Cheer! Our prayer is that Spartan Cheerleading continues to be an amazing program for young ladies to excel and be challenged, and offers an opportunity for them to glorify Christ as a DasCHE Spartan!
Cheerleading is a physical and mental sport and it will challenge you. It also puts you in the role as a leader to your peers and in your community. You will not only be required to perform physically and mentally, but you will also be required to represent yourself well as a DasCHE Spartan and as a follower of Christ. You will be looked at as a leader; therefore, your character and actions must reflect that.
Cheerleading is a sport that creates lifelong friendships and lifelong memories! You will walk away from this season of life with confidence, a feeling of accomplishment, a feeling of community and pride! You will create bonds with your fellow cheerleaders, coach, moms and admins. You will create memories that will last you a lifetime!
Cheer Code of Conduct
DasCHE Spartans Handbook has a code of conduct that must be followed. In addition to it, Spartan Cheer has their own code of conduct that must be followed.
No Distractions: This is one of the most important ones we have in place. Cheerleaders MAY NOT COMMUNICATE WITH FOOTBALL PLAYERS BEFORE OR DURING THE GAMES! Cheerleaders will not be a distraction to the players. Breaking this rule will cause you to be benched or removed from the cheer team. After the game is over, you may speak to players in an encouraging and supportive way.
Sportsmanship: Cheerleaders in uniform will support DasCHE sports before any other team. They will show good sportsmanship at games or any other events they attend. They will show respect and stand attentive during the national anthem with their hand over their heart. When a player from either team is injured, they will kneel on one knee and quietly pray for that player. Cheerleaders will have a Christ-like attitude towards one another and everyone they encounter, including an opposing team. We are ambassadors of DasCHE Spartans and of Christ, and we want that to show in our choices and actions on and off the field.
Cheer & Spartans Sports: Cheerleaders who participate in both cheerleading and Spartan Sports must understand that being a cheerleader and in sports requires a tremendous amount of time, sacrifice and commitment. Coaches will work together (both cheer and sports) to divide time for members to participate in both cheer and sports.
Attitude: Cheerleaders must come to all practices, games and events with a positive, encouraging and teachable attitude. They will come to practice with enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. They will be respectful to the coach, parents and admins on and off the field. Poor attitudes disrupt unity on a team, and it will not be tolerated on the cheer team.
Social media Policy from Spartan Handbook:
We are a Christian organization and abide by Biblical principles. Being a member of any Spartans Sports Team is a privilege, not a right. DasCHE members (athletes, coaches, leaders, and parents) are responsible for their own behavior when communicating with social media and will be held accountable for the content of the communications that they state/post on social media locations. It is the responsibility of all users to carefully consider their behavior and what they place online when communicating with or “friending” any individual.
Guidelines include but are not limited to the following: No cyberbullying is permitted. This is defined as the use of electronic technologies to hurt or harm other people. Examples include: Sending offensive text messages or emails; posting statements that are not true and creating rumors; or circulating embarrassing photos of a classmate online. No conversation in regard to terrorist threats. No foul or explicit language. No references to the DasCHE association or any entity of the association in a negative fashion. No sexually explicit language or photographs. No messages that could be interpreted as racially insensitive. Disciplinary actions will be determined by the Sports Management Team and will be determined on a case by case basis. Disciplinary actions include but are not limited to: loss of playing time, loss of DasCHE membership, oral or written reprimands, game suspensions, coach suspensions, dismissal, or expulsions.
DasCHE Spartans Sports Organization will cooperate to the extent legally required with social media sites, internet service providers, local, state, and federal officials in investigations or with other legal requests, whether criminal or civil actions. Spam accounts are applicable to the same policy.
Attendance: Attendance is critical to any team sport and cheer is no exception. To be respectful to the team and coach, we need prompt attendance at camps, practices and games in order to be productive and to take full advantage of our time together. If you will be out, please communicate that with both coach and director in writing at least 48 hours prior to the practice or event. Excessive excused absences can result in losing stunt position. Unexcused absences will result in receiving demerits and being benched from games, losing stunt positions, and eventually removed from the squad.
Uniforms: Uniforms, practice wear and cheer accessories must be kept clean, spot free, wrinkle free and looking pristine. We are representing the DasCHE organization, our team, and our leaders when we are in uniform. If you show up to a game and you are not in the correct uniform, you will not get to participate at that game. All cheer gear (poms, megaphone, cold weather gear) must be at every game unless otherwise stated.
*Uniforms may only be worn at games, team pictures, or other approved events by the coach or director.
Appearance:
- Hair– Cheerleaders are expected to wear their hair securely out of their face for camps, practices and games. The coach will make the decision on how to wear their hair each week and it should remain that way during the entire practice/camp/game. Hair should be a natural color.
- Jewelry-No jewelry is allowed during camps, practices or games for safety reasons.
- Makeup– Makeup must be worn in a natural way. Makeup should not be excessive.
- Nails– Nails should be cut short and be kept clean once practices start until the end of season. *THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE* If anyone comes to practice or a game with nails that are out of dress code, they will sit out the first quarter and not be allowed to stunt the entire game.
- Clothing – No visible undergarments should be seen in uniform.
*Cheerleaders wearing any item that represents DasCHE Spartans at any time are expected to represent themselves in a Christ-like manner. They should conduct themselves in a way that respects and honors our cheer team and other DasCHE sports. Out of uniform, they are still representatives of Christ and should act in a manner that honors Him.
Fundraising/Parent Involvement:
All Cheerleaders and families are expected to participate in fundraising. In an effort to keep the cost of cheer reasonable, we count on fundraising to account for a large portion of our budget. We encourage the girls to take ownership in this regard and not let it all fall on parents.
We host a Bingo night in the spring, where the girls will be expected to help sell tickets, make something for the bake sale, and help run the event. Families also asked to find a business to sponsor a prize basket.
We also sell ads to local businesses for our sports program, as well as athlete spotlights. All cheerleaders and parents are asked to help in some capacity, as this represents our squad, the football team, band, and community. All hands on deck are needed to make this a success!
Finally, our cheer mini camps in August and February are run mostly by the cheerleaders, but we will depend on parent volunteers to help organize/supervise.
Protocols for concern: Please do not address the coach, director, cheerleaders or parents about a concern during any DasCHE Spartans’ event. If there is a concern you feel needs to be addressed, please wait twenty-four hours before contacting the coach/director. Please refrain from talking negatively about the cheer team, coach or director. Likewise, we like to use a team app/group messaging to communicate information about practices, games, and events. However, group messaging should not be used to express opinions or concerns. Those should be handled through private messaging or phone calls with the coach/director. We want to not only be unified as a cheer team, but we also want to be unified as an organization. We respect and appreciate the years of dedication the organization has devoted to the DasCHE Spartans, and we want our actions to reflect that.
