AGE ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
PROGRAM INFORMATION
VARSITY
The Varsity team will be composed of a mixture of upperclassmen (seniors, juniors) and
younger players;
Boys, ages 15 – 18; a player’s age is determined by his age on September 1st. For
example, a player who is 13 on September 1st but turns 14 in September 2 or after is
considered an 8th grade student.
Middle School Team
The 8th/MS team will be for the 6th-8th grade players. Young players will practice with the
varsity and will get a chance to play up in varsity games (based on ability and practice
performance). Every athlete will get a chance to get in games and play. This is what we
sign up to do.
A player who is 11 on September 1st but turns 12 during the school year is a 6th grade
player and must be evaluated by the coaches on a case-by-case basis to determine the
status of the player’s safety while playing alongside older players.
We want everyone to have the opportunity to play but a smaller, less physically mature
6th grader shouldn’t be competing against older, bigger football athletes.
