Basketball
AGE DIVISIONS
Boys and Girls 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U are the different age groups offered. A player’s age group is determined by his/her age on August 1st. For example, a player who is 16 on August 1st but turns 17 on August 5th is considered eligible to play in the 16-and-under age group at the National Christian Homeschool Championships (NCHC) post-season tournaments. Players may play in a higher age group, if requested by coaching staff.
ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY
We are a part of the DasCHE Spartans Sports Organization; therefore all families must be sure to fill out the Association Registration Application.
DasCHE Spartans Basketball follows the eligibility guidelines established by the National Christian Homeschool Championship (NCHC) Organization’s website. The full athlete eligibility requirements can be found at: http://nchclive.com/guidelines/

Basketball Tryouts
Please bring a basketball and your own water bottle. There will be a table to check in when you arrive.
Age cut-offs are as of August 1, 2023. So, for instance, if your child is 12 as of Aug 1 but turns 13 on Aug 2, then he/she can still play 12U. (Yes, they changed the rules this year from Sept 1 to Aug 1.)
Tryout schedule:
Boys:
10UB – 12UB: 4:00-5:00 (Blue Court 2)
14UB: 4:00-5:00 (Blue Court 3)
JVB – VB: 5:00-6:00 (Blue Courts 2 & 3)
Girls:
10UG – 12UG: 5:30-6:30 (Blue Court 3)
14UG – VG: 6:30-7:30 (Blue Court 3)
DasCHE Spartans Basketball Tryouts for the 2023-2024 season are open to all home-schooled boys and girls ages 8-18.
Practice Schedule
Practices begin the week of September 12th.
Teams practice on average 2 days a week – Monday or Tuesday and Thursday.
Time frames are typically late afternoon or early evening.

*** Practice times and locations for teams will not be finalized and announced until after tryouts and teams are formatted. Coaches will reach out to players within a couple of days to let them know their practice days and time slots.

COMPETITIVE BASKETBALL
We will compete primarily against private schools, other homeschool teams, and some charter schools. These games are in preparation for highly competitive Regional and National Homeschool Basketball Championships.
