Homecoming Dance Dress Code & Security Guidelines

This is a dressy event.  Please use the following guidelines, keeping in mind that we are a Christian organization. We request that parents please partner with us in this area.

Men:

  • No jeans with holes, t-shirts, shorts, flip flops or anything that would be considered shabby.
  • Shirts should be tucked into the waistband of the pants.
  • Pants should be worn at the natural waist. No “sagging” will be allowed.
  • No make-up or dressing in drag will be allowed.

Ladies:

  • Should wear dresses or dressy pant suits. No jeans with holes or shorts.
  • Dresses and slits are to be no shorter than 4 inches above the top of the knee cap…measured from the top of the knee while standing without being stretched or pulled down in order to achieve the length – front and back. If you bend over and your rear-end or undergarment shows, THE DRESS IS TOO SHORT, please choose another dress. (A sheer skirt overlay is not considered the skirt of a dress. The solid fabric of the skirt is what will be measured.)
  • TIP when searching for a dress look for a cocktail dress vs. what is being marketed as a homecoming dress.

  • No cleavage should be visible when standing straight, dancing (including jumping up and down), or twisting. If you put yourself in any of these movements, and cleavage is visible or would be visible if you had cleavage, the neckline is TOO LOW, please choose another dress.
  • Midriff must be covered (front, sides, and back), no sheer or see-through fabric.

  • No open back dresses. Back of the dress must come up to mid-back.

If you are in doubt about the acceptability of your dress, choose another dress. If your dress does not meet the modesty guidelines upon your arrival at the Homecoming Dance, you will not be allowed to enter and no refund will be issued.

All students will have their clothing approved at the door and dress lengths will be measured.  Please be aware that certain movements may cause unwanted exposure. Ladies, twist, bend over and dance a bit in the dress you are planning on wearing to ENSURE no cleavage or any part of your rear-end becomes exposed. ALL students are reminded that they are to be respectful to any adult that brings this to their attention and is to act accordingly.
